Kaiyang county, Guizhou, is using its phosphorus and fluorine chemical resources to implement the "precision exploitation of high-quality mineral resources" strategy.

It focuses on basic chemicals, fine phosphorus-fluorine chemicals, and new-energy battery materials. The county has 33 key industrial projects under construction or planned, with a total investment of 89.4 billion yuan ($13.36 billion).

In April 2025, Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group launched a phosphorus-titanium-iron-lithium coupled circular integration project in Shuangliu town. The 33.1-billion-yuan project will be built in three phases and create a closed-loop recycling system for phosphorus, titanium, iron, lithium, and fluorine. Site grading for Phase I is expected to be completed in November.

Guizhou Anda Energy Technology produces 150,000 metric tons per year each of lithium iron phosphate and iron phosphate, supplying BYD, CATL, CALB, and other major manufacturers. Its first-half 2025 revenue reached 3.37 billion yuan, up 119.01 percent year-on-year. Its Phase III 450,000-ton-per-year precursor project is 90 percent structurally complete and 70 percent equipped. It is expected to begin trial production by year-end and add 13.5 billion yuan in annual industrial output.

Kaiyang will strengthen industrial chains and build clusters for mineral deep processing and new-energy materials.
