The Party committee of Kaiyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine recently organized study and education reading sessions and central group learning seminars, with all Party branches and departments carrying out concentrated learning, formulating 128 corrective measures.
The hospital has confronted the urgent needs and concerns of the public head-on, making the reduction of medical costs the primary benchmark for evaluating the effectiveness of its learning and education initiatives. The average outpatient cost per visit decreased from 309 yuan ($45) to 230 yuan, while the average inpatient cost per stay dropped from 5,544 yuan to 4,278 yuan.

It promoted mutual recognition of clinical examination and test results, saving patients 437,800 yuan in expenses.
The hospital not only revised and improved regulations on medical management and professional conduct, but also implemented patient-friendly measures such as "one-stop" services, renovated the connecting corridor between the outpatient and inpatient departments, further optimized the clinical space layout, and integrated traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic and treatment resources.
The outpatient satisfaction rate rose to 94.06 percent, and the inpatient satisfaction rate reached 94.42 percent.
