Updated: 2026-02-28

The Kaiyang agriculture and rural affairs bureau and Guizhou Huayu Tianchen Agriculture Group Co signed an agreement for a selenium-rich edible mushroom full-industry-chain project to be built in Kaiyang county.

The project has a total investment of 55 million yuan ($8.01 million) and will be located in Nanjing township, Zhaiji township, Miping township, Hefeng township, and Nanmudu town. It will rely on the area's ecological environment and unique selenium-rich resources, focusing on the cultivation of high-quality edible mushrooms such as morels, as well as their deep processing and integrated production and sales.

The project will include up to 200 hectares of mushroom cultivation area, with an annual production of 30 million mushroom sticks. It will adopt a dual-linkage model of "leading enterprise + agricultural investment company + village collective + farmers" and "leading company + base", deepening cooperation between county and township-level companies, village collectives, and farmers. Through comprehensive technical guidance and employment opportunities, the project aims to increase local farmers' incomes and strengthen the village collective economy.

The signing marks a major step forward for Kaiyang in enhancing its agricultural industry and supporting rural vitalization.

The Kaiyang agriculture and rural affairs bureau will earnestly fulfill its service responsibilities, providing comprehensive support for the project, accurately implementing various industrial support policies, continuously optimizing the business environment, and removing obstacles so that the project can advance as quickly as possible.
