Six key industries drive Kaiyang's growth

At Guizhou Anda Technology Energy Co's production workshops, located in the Kaiyang Economic Development Zone, automated production lines are running at full capacity to meet orders, with the company's annual output expected to exceed 3 billion yuan ($42.2 million) in 2025.

Transitioning from yellow phosphorus to iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate, Anda Technology Energy Co has successfully transformed into an innovative enterprise that integrates research, production, and sales of new energy lithium-ion battery cathode materials, lithium iron phosphate cells, and battery systems. In 2023, the company became the first in Guizhou province to be listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange. The company is also a major supplier of lithium-ion battery cathode materials for companies like BYD, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co, and CALB Group Co.

The company increases investment in talent acquisition and research and development, deepens industry-academia collaboration, and establishes a management trainee system. The company encourages employees to identify and solve problems during production and participate in technological improvements. The company has been recognized as a national-level "little giant" specialized and sophisticated enterprise, and a national-level green factory.

Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), Guiyang has accelerated the development of specialized industrial bases, led by six key industries – electronic information manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, phosphorus and phosphorus chemicals, aluminum and aluminum processing, health and pharmaceuticals, and ecological specialty foods. The growth rate of added value in industries increased from 9.7 percent in 2021 to 18 percent in 2024.
