Huali town celebrates pomelo harvest

Qingjiang village in Huali town, Kaiyang county, has celebrated a bountiful pomelo harvest, with farmers busy picking, transporting, and selling the fruit among the groves.

These pomelos have smooth skin, substantial weight, and juicy, flavorful flesh. Some customers called the fruit farmers to make reservations every day, while others specifically drove from the city to pick the fruit themselves.

Roadside pomelo stalls along the G354 National Highway through Qingjiang village attracted passers-by. Farmers weighed and bagged the fruit, while the crisp calls of vendors blended with customers' laughter. According to stall owners, they sold plenty of pomelos daily and had plenty of repeat customers.

Qingjiang village benefits from moderate elevation, ample sunlight, and fertile soil, providing ideal conditions for fruit planting. Besides pomelos, which are in peak harvest season, citrus fruits are also ripening, helping villagers increase their income. This year, Qingjiang village's pomelo planting area reached over 300 mu (20 hectares), with an expected total output of about 30,000 kilograms. To enhance profits, farmers are developing a fruit-picking tourism model and expanding sales, both online and offline, to promote Qingjiang pomelos directly to the market.

Huali town has focused on the development strategy of "one village, one brand" and "one brand, one characteristic product", expanding characteristic industries, such as fruit planting, to increase villagers' incomes and promote rural vitalization.

Huali town will continue to focus on developing characteristic agriculture and on improving the quality of pomelos and other fruits.
