At the cherry tomato cultivation base in Kaiyang county, Guizhou province, boxes of packaged cherry tomatoes are ready everyday to be transported to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and several Southeast Asian countries.

This variety of cherry tomato is known for being tasty and sweet.
Upon entering the market, Kaiyang cherry tomatoes became popular, although they require demanding growing conditions. This variety needs to be grown at altitudes between 1,000 and 2,000 meters, with temperatures controlled between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius. Kaiyang' natural environment perfectly meets these conditions.
To ensure quality, the base has equipped its 15 greenhouses with an intelligent planting system, digitizing the entire process from water purification and nutrient management to environmental monitoring. Employees set up exclusive water and fertilizer formulas in the system for the different growth stages of the cherry tomatoes, and then the system automatically waters them. Numerous monitoring instruments in the greenhouses allow for real-time tracking of light, temperature, and humidity via a mobile app, making management convenient.
The development of cherry tomatoes has also provided local jobs. Workers undergo training twice a month, and the base employs 40 to 50 workers at a time.
The Kaiyang base began planting cherry tomatoes in April, 2025, with harvesting starting in July. Sales have exceeded 300 metric tons.
