This summer, Nanjiang township in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has become a top destination for tourists.

With an average annual temperature of 14 C, 62 percent forest coverage, and negative ion levels exceeding 20,000 per cubic centimeter, it's known as a "natural oxygen bar". Highlights like the Shili Hualang Scenic Area and the karst landscapes of Nanjiang Grand Canyon draw visitors from near and far.

The township has adopted a "Four Unified" management approach – standardized homestay renovations, rating systems, pricing, and service procedures – ensuring quality experiences. Homestay occupancy is soaring. Visitors enjoy refreshing retreats while locals sell agricultural specialties.

By Aug 3, Nanjiang had hosted over 18,000 overnight visitors, including 1,579 staying a week or longer. With 70 homestays, 810 rooms, and 1,285 beds, demand far exceeds supply. The tourism boom is driving economic growth, rural vitalization, and ecological protection simultaneously.

The township plans to expand sales of cultural, wellness, and selenium-rich agricultural products, turning its "cool resources" into a thriving summer economy – a vivid mix of natural beauty, thriving businesses, and prosperous communities.
