As summer heats up, Nanjiang Grand Canyon in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is drawing crowds in search of adventure and relief from the heat.
Just 40 kilometers from downtown Guiyang, the canyon offers a refreshing climate and scenic views. Visitors can enjoy rafting, Via Ferrata climbing, a glass suspension bridge, and a glass slide.
Rafting is the top attraction, featuring two sections: a 4.5-kilometer "leisure drift" with gentle waters ideal for families, and a 7-kilometer "adventure drift" packed with rapids and dramatic canyon scenery, perfect for those seeking a sense of excitement.

With the opening of the Guiyang-Kaiyang intercity railway and direct access to Nanjiang Railway Station, visitor numbers continue to climb, with weekend rafting capacity reaching up to 8,000 people per day. This summer, the site added 500 new rafting kits and upgraded safety measures, including enhanced river monitoring, emergency broadcasts, and more on-site staff members.
Thanks to its spectacular landscapes and well-developed activities, Nanjiang Grand Canyon is fast becoming a standout destination showcasing the best of Guizhou's eco-tourism.
