After extensive renovations, the Xianghuoyan Scenic Area in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, reopened during the 2025 May Day holiday, welcoming guests with a refreshed look. Its unique karst landscapes and serene canyon views allow visitors to immerse themselves in nature's beauty.

The scenic area now features newly renovated pathways and plank roads. The 7-kilometer hiking route weaves through various landscapes, connecting majestic waterfalls, deep canyons, thrilling cliffside paths, and mysterious caves, like a ribbon stitched into a natural masterpiece.
The area's towering red sandstone cliffs glisten in the sunlight, creating vibrant patterns. Streams and waterfalls cascade through the deep valleys, splashing like silver beads. Together, these elements create an immersive "travel in a painting" experience.
The Xianghuoyan Waterfall, the area's main attraction, has become a favorite spot for visitors. Sunlight filters through the mist to create a stunning Tyndall effect (the effect of light scattering in colloidal dispersion), draping the waterfall in a golden glow and captivating photographers eager to capture the breathtaking "descending galaxy".
