A bountiful harvest is underway at the vegetable base in Xicheng subdistrict, Kaiyang county, where villagers are busy picking, transporting, and loading fresh cauliflower.

Launched in December 2023, the vegetable base employs a cooperative model that combines "village collective + enterprise + farmers". Operated by Guizhou Shengbo Agricultural Development Co, the village collective participates by contributing idle land in exchange for dividends. At the same time, farmers are involved through land shares and labor, achieving mutual benefits for all parties.

Three planting cycles are planned for this year. The cauliflower currently being harvested is the first batch, sown in late March, with an expected yield of 300 metric tons. The produce will be sold to markets in Chongqing, Chengdu, and other cities, creating job opportunities for villagers, especially those living nearby.

Following the harvest, glutinous corn and cabbage will be planted in rotation, ensuring year-round productivity and a steady income stream.

Xicheng subdistrict will continue to promote standardized and large-scale vegetable farming to strengthen the village collective economy.
