Guizhou to support accelerated development of new energy battery and materials industry in Xifeng and Kaiyang

The Guizhou Provincial Government recently issued the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the County Economy", according to a press conference held on Dec 6.

The implementation opinions outline the main objectives. By 2027, the comprehensive strength of each county's economy should significantly increase, with the proportion of the total county economy to the provincial economy reaching around 65 percent. Furthermore, there should be 15 or more counties ranking among the top 100 in western China.

The driving capacity of the leading industries in the counties should noticeably improve, with the added value of county industries accounting for approximately 70 percent of the total provincial industrial added value.

The implementation opinions include supportive policy measures in seven areas. To improve industrial quality in counties, the main focus is on helping each county tailor its efforts around the construction of "six major industrial bases" and the development of key industrial sectors supported at the provincial level in various cities and prefectures.

Emphasis is placed on the county's resource endowment, industrial foundation, and development potential, with a specific focus on developing one or two leading industries.

There is a specific emphasis on supporting the accelerated development of the new energy battery and materials industry in counties such as Xifeng and Kaiyang.
