Kaiyang tops city with 9.3% GDP growth in first nine months

Kaiyang county in Guiyang reported annualized GDP growth of 9.3 percent in the first three quarters, beating all rivals in the city by this metric.

Its GDP jumped to 21.75 billion yuan ($2.97 billion) during this period.

The added value of Kaiyang's primary industry reached 3.74 billion yuan, up 4.7 percent year on year, while that of its second industry stood at 9.39 billion yuan with an impressive growth of 19.2 percent. The added value of its tertiary industry grew 2 percent to 8.63 billion yuan.

The added value of the three industries contributed 17.2 percent, 43.1 percent, and 39.7 percent to the county's GDP, respectively.
