Guiyang and Guian strive to build 15-minute medical insurance services circles

Guiyang City and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have strived to provide one-stop medical insurance services for locals at their doorsteps and build Service stations with complete facilities have been built to cover services to villages and communities, and a unified, standardized, convenient, and intelligent service system has been developed, aiming at building the "15-minute medical insurance services circles" into satisfying "life service circles" for the locals.

Guiyang's Xiuwen county has migrated its 12 county-level medical insurance agencies and 126 village-level medical insurance service locations to the dedicated medical insurance network. This ensures that basic services such as medical insurance enrollment and registration changes and off-site medical treatment records for insured individuals can be provided at the doorstep.

As one of the first hospitals in Guiyang to pilot medical insurance mobile payments, the Second People's Hospital of Guiyang launched medical insurance mobile payments in October 2022.

Insured individuals can register and make payments through the online platform on their mobile phones and settle medical insurance claims in real time using electronic medical insurance credentials.

This reduces the need for on-site registration and payments for medical insurance patients, effectively shortening the time spent on medical visits.

Guiyang plans to enable medical insurance mobile payments at all designated tertiary medical institutions and secondary medical institutions with an average daily settlement volume of more than 1,000 transactions in the city this year.

It also encourages other eligible designated medical institutions to adopt medical insurance mobile payments to provide convenience for patients.

As planned, Guiyang will create "15-minute medical insurance service circles" in 99 pilot villages and communities this year, expanding the range of medical insurance services. Each district and county in Guiyang has taken action in line with their realities to develop such circles and strive to provide medical insurance services at people's doorsteps.
