This year, Kaiyang county plans to renovate 1,800 farmhouses. To date, the renovation work has started on 1,656 households, 1,191 of which have completed the work.
Meanwhile, the county has also focused on revitalizing idle farmhouses to develop homestays and agri-entertainment in order to increase farmers' incomes. So far, 98 idle farmhouses have been turned into homestays, 33 of which have started operating, while 16 have been used to develop agri-entertainment, with half having been put into operation.
Kaiyang has carried out regular investigations and rectifications of potential safety hazards posed by rural houses.
Since the start of this year, the county has carried out house safety inspections 477 times, inspecting 4,436 farm houses. Among them, 37 houses have been rehabilitated through listing warnings and fences, and 30 idle dilapidated houses have been demolished.
In addition, relevant experts in the construction industry have been invited to carry out training for rural construction craftsmen in order to provide talent support for rural housing construction and improve the quality of rural housing construction. Since the beginning of this year, the county has trained a total of 182 rural construction workers.
