A concrete pouring ceremony for a heat and power co-generation project was held in Kaiyang Industrial Park in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 25, marking the beginning of construction on the main part of the project.
The project will mainly provide heat supply for enterprises engaged in the new energy materials industry in the park. Guizhou Industry Investment Co aims to complete and put the first unit into operation by the end of June, 2024.
Phase I of the project will include three 450t/h circulating fluidized bed boilers and two 50MW high temperature and ultra-high pressure back pressure steam turbine generator units as well as office areas, main factory areas, distribution device areas, auxiliary production and ancillary facilities areas, and a 2.04-kilometer-long and 23.5-meter-wide entrance road.
The project has cost nearly 2 billion yuan ($277.40 million) so far. After completion, it is expected to generate an average annual sales revenue of 1 billion yuan and pay an annual tax contribution of 30 million yuan, creating jobs for 200 people.
The project is expected to play a significant role for Kaiyang in creating a 100 billion-level modern industrial park. With the vigorous development of the new energy vehicle industry in recent years, the lithium iron phosphate battery has boomed due to its safety and low cost, while Kaiyang is the place with the highest quality and most abundant phosphate resources in the country.
Kaiyang county is accelerating the transformation of resource advantages into development advantages, and is making every effort to build a 100-billion-level modern industrial cluster to create "China's energy storage capital".
Guiyang Industry Investment Co will strive to make the project operational as soon as possible to boost the industrial development of Kaiyang and Guiyang.
