The Shanmulin Reservoir in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, successfully passed its acceptance procedure on May 18.
The reservoir is located in Guwangzhai of Shuangliu town in Kaiyang, 21.5 kilometers from the downtown area of the county.
It is designed to address the water needs of three companies, namely Guizhou Qingli Industry and Trade Co, Guizhou Kaiyang Guohua Tianxin Phosphorus Industry Co, and Guizhou Sanhuan Abrasive Co; as well as serve the irrigation needs of 130 mu of downstream farmland; and the drinking water requirements of 855 residents and 420 livestock in Liangshuijing village.
It has received a total investment of 80.56 million yuan ($11.59 million). The reservoir will be able to supply 1.54 million cubic meters of water annually.

During the acceptance inspection, departments involved in the reservoir's construction management, design, supervision, and safety monitoring reported on their respective work.
Quality supervision, immigration, and water storage safety appraisal departments all reported on their completed reports.
Despite some shortcomings in the engineering data, the expert group unanimously agreed on the acceptance of the reservoir at the down-gate storage phase, and the acceptance inspection of the reservoir was completed successfully.
