Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a series of activities in Yunkai Square to mark World Tuberculosis Day.
The day falls on March 24 every year and aims to raise public awareness about the infectious disease.
In Yunkai Square, members of Kaiyang's medical system gave detailed explanations to the public about how tuberculosis is transmitted, preventive measures and treatment policies. They also distributed tuberculosis prevention brochures.
The activity advocated a healthy lifestyle, popularized coughing etiquette, and appealed to participants to share knowledge about tuberculosis prevention with family, friends and neighbors. Another highlighted message was the call for everyone to work together to end the tuberculosis epidemic.
