To improve the efficiency of logistics distribution and reduce costs, Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is establishing a three-level logistics system in its jurisdiction.
According to the plan, Kaiyang will build a county-level logistics operation center, several township-level logistics sorting stations and several village-level distribution points.
The county-level logistics operation center and township-level logistics sorting stations will be self-built and operated, while the village-level distribution points will mainly be operated based on cooperation with franchises.
Under the new logistics system, all the parcels to be delivered to Kaiyang's rural areas will gather in the same logistics center no matter which express operators they belong to.
The parcels with the same delivery destinations will be transported and delivered through the same route, vehicle and delivery personnel.
It means that all the express operators with business in the county will share information and resources to reduce operating costs.
At present, Kaiyang has built a county-level logistics operation center with an area of about 1,040 square meters and 90 rural service stations. The express delivery network is served by 23 enterprises with eight distribution vehicles and five distribution trunk lines.
The number of service products has reached 52 and the cost of the e-commerce supply chain has been reduced by 20 to 25 percent.
The express delivery service covers 16 towns and townships in Kaiyang.
It is estimated that 10,000 e-commerce parcels can be delivered every month, and more than 100,000 pieces can be delivered every year.
