Kaiyang road enters national road selection final competition

A road in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, made it to the finals in the competition to become one of the top 10 most beautiful rural roads in the country in 2022, according to information from the Guiyang Transportation Committee on Sept 16.

The road selection activity was launched by the Ministry of Transport in May this year.

The selected Kaiyang road aims to showcase the historical changes and achievements made by Guiyang in rural road construction and rural vitalization.

The road originated in Daqiao village in Wudang district, passing through Hefeng township in Kaiyang county and ending in Kaiyang's Longguang village.

The total length of the road in Kaiyang is 18.5 kilometers.

Many famous attractions in Guiyang are located along the road, including the national 4A-level scenic spot Nanjiang Grand Canyon Scenic Spot, provincial-level scenic spots Shili Gallery Scenic Spot and Xianghuoyan Canyon, and the national-level cultural relic protection unit Matou Ancient Building Complex.

The road has contributed to the integrated development of agriculture and tourism in Kaiyang county.
