Kaiyang county in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has reportedly redoubled efforts to expand and improve its tourism sector.
It has reportedly yielded some robust and encouraging results to date.
From January to August this year, Kaiyang received a total of 7.92 million visits, which generated tourism revenue of 7.75 billion yuan ($1.21 billion), a year-on-year increase of 45.42 percent.
Replying on its geographical and natural resources advantages, the county is now offering a wide range of activities and experiences involving enjoying hot springs, picking fruit, admiring flowers, trying out farming, gliding, rock climbing and bungee jumping, among other thrills.

It has also upgraded its tourism infrastructure to provide a richer tourism experience, including erecting more tourism signs and installing intelligent tourism systems.
Currently, Kaiyang has five locations rated as municipal rural revitalization demonstration sites, with four villages recognized as key countryside tourism villages at the national, provincial and municipal levels.
It's also home to two 4A-level scenic areas and one 3A-level scenic area.
Kaiyang has been conferred with the honorary appellations of "China's Outstanding Eco-tourism County", "China's Best Destination for Health, Leisure and Summer Tourism" and "National Demonstration Site for Rural Tourism and Leisure Agriculture.”
