Kaiyang GDP to top 50 billion yuan by 2025

Kaiyang county in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- will reportedly strive to become a leading development demonstration zone in central Guizhou province in the next five years.

The target was announced at the 13th CPC Kaiyang County Congress, which was held on Oct 22-23.

Under the plan, by the end of 2025, the regional GDP of Kaiyang county is projected to top 50 billion yuan ($7.5 billion), with a total industrial output value of 80-100 billion yuan.

During the period, Kaiyang county plans to speed up the development of new-type industrialization led by the modern chemicals industry, new-type urbanization with the goal of being livable and suitable for residents, and agricultural modernization featuring selenium-rich brands, as well as achieve tourism industrialization

Efforts will be made to develop Kaiyang county as a "China Energy Storage Capital" and a "Selenium Farming Resort".

Plans are also for Kaiyang county to implement the new-type industrialization strategy, take action on rural revitalization, expand reforms and opening-up, and comprehensively improve people's life and the effectiveness of social governance.
