Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 1.08 million tourist visits during the recent National Day holiday, according to the county's culture, sports, radio, television and tourism bureau.
During the seven-day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, tourism revenue in the county hits 679 million yuan ($101.88 million).
To boost tourism, the county launched a variety of activities over the holiday, including concerts, firework shows, and a traditional Shuidong Tusi banquet.

In addition, the county's culture, sports, radio, television and tourism bureau conducted inspections of accommodations, as well as tourism and cultural venues to ensure safety and the strict implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
All tourist venues were also required to limit the number of tourists to 75 percent of their maximum capacities.
