Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, distributed firefighting vehicles and equipment to 13 townships and towns at a ceremony held on Jan 27.
During the ceremony, representatives from 13 townships and towns received the keys to the fire engines. Staff members from the fire brigade of Kaiyang county demonstrated how to use the vehicles and explained important information.
Kaiyang county specially allocated more than 3 million yuan ($464,400) to purchase 13 fire engines and more than 1,500 sets of equipment for 13 townships and towns to minimize the damage caused by rural fires and effectively improve the level of public safety services.
Thanks to the addition of the 13 fire engines, the protection radius of the fire station in Kaiyang county has been dramatically reduced. The county's fire rescue capabilities and disposal efficiency have also been improved, and people's lives and property have been further protected.
