Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a cooperation agreement for pig farming with Sino-Agri Holding Company Limited on Jan 8.
The project has a total investment of 128 million yuan ($19.76 million) and will be developed in Nanmudu town of Kaiyang county. A total of 40,000 pigs will be raised in the town.
With a focus on environmental protection, the project's pigs will be pasture-fed, and it will adopt smart agriculture technology.
According to the company, following completion, the project will generate annual revenue of 692 million yuan and increase incomes for at least 50 rural households by more than 15,000 yuan each year.
The project will also integrate green planting and ecological breeding, which will promote rural industrial revitalization.
Nanmudu town will pay close attention to the project and ensure that it is carried out on schedule, according to local authorities.
