Government officials in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, were invited to attend the 5th China Selenium-rich Agriculture Development Conference, which was held in Shanghai on Dec 4-7.
The deputy head of Kaiyang county, Duan Honglian, shared selenium-rich industry development experience at the conference. Kaiyang is known as the "Hometown of China's Selenium-rich Agricultural Products."
While speaking to the event participants, Duan introduced the unique selenium-rich ecological resources of Kaiyang county and talked about its experiences developing the selenium industry, cultivating enterprises and building brands.

Attendees from Kaiyang county also exchanged views with various institutions and scholars on the selenium industry's development prospects.
Meanwhile, all of the Kaiyang products brought to the expo, including selenium-rich eggs, teas, rapeseed oil and traditional Chinese medicine, were sold out.
Yabahong selenium-enriched black tea and Lanzhiyuye Maofeng tea products from Kaiyang county were also granted the title of "China's Selenium-enriched Tea" at the conference.
