Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held an activity in Yunkai Square to mark the 33rd World AIDS Day, which fell on Dec 1.
This year's World AIDS Day had a theme of "Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility," aiming to increase awareness of AIDS-prevention knowledge, which can help people avoid and minimize dangerous behaviors that increase the risk of AIDS.

During the offline portion of the event, hanging banners and publicity materials were used to publicize knowledge about AIDS symptoms, transmission routes, how to prevent AIDS and the status of the AIDS pandemic.
The activity encouraged the general public to establish a positive attitude, develop a healthy lifestyle and actively participate in AIDS prevention and control work.
In the online activities, Kaiyang County Disease Control Center and Guizhou Rongmeishidai Culture Media Co simultaneously published six series of AIDS testing publicity videos through the "Here is Kaiyang" online platform. The short films promoted relevant knowledge and public participation in AIDS detection.
