Kaiyang county signed a cooperation agreement with the Guizhou Institute of Technology on Nov 17 to establish the Guizhou Phosphogypsum Research Institute.
The institute will cater to the development needs of Guizhou's phosphogypsum industry, carrying out research and development of ecological materials focusing on phosphogypsum products.
It will also build a phosphogypsum innovation system integrating scientific research, technology development and services, talent training, commercialization of research achievements, and promotion to help transform and upgrade the phosphorus chemical industry in Kaiyang county.

At a signing ceremony held the same day, Wang Qiyun, Party secretary of Kaiyang county, expressed his gratitude to the Guizhou Institute of Technology for its attention and support to the development of the phosphorus chemical industry in Kaiyang.
Guizhou Institute of Technology is rich in technology, talent resources, outstanding professional advantages and strong scientific research capabilities.
"This cooperation will accelerate the comprehensive utilization of phosphogypsum resources and promote the transformation and upgrading of the phosphorus chemical industry in Kaiyang," Wang added.
