Kaiyang county in Guiyang city signed an agreement with Zhejiang Fujin New Materials Co on Sept 2 to construct a halogen-free flame retardant project with an annual production capacity of 35,000 metric tons in the county.
Officials stated that the halogen-free flame retardant project is a crucial node project in the fine phosphorous chemical sector. The project is estimated to obtain a total investment of about 350 million yuan ($51.23 million).
When the development is completed and put into production, it could achieve annual sales revenue of 463 million yuan and provide more than 280 jobs for local people.

According to officials, as a model for investment promotion of Kaiyang county's industrial chain, the project will play an active role in supplementing and extending Kaiyang county's phosphorus chemical industry chain. It will also make positive contributions to the high-quality development of Kaiyang's economy and society.
At the signing ceremony between Kaiyang county and the project investor, Wang Qiyun, Party secretary of Kaiyang county, expressed a warm welcome and great gratitude to the Zhejiang-based company for starting businesses in the county.
Wang said that Kaiyang would strive to build a better business environment and provide high-quality and high-efficiency services for companies.
